Pianist Omar Roy (M.M. ‘15) joins the University of South Carolina Faculty

This fall, 51ºÚÁÏÍø alumnus Omar Roy, D.M.A., joined the University of South Carolina as assistant professor of piano and piano pedagogy. There, he teaches applied piano and coordinates group piano classes.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Americans observe National Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month each year from September 15 to October 15 by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover 30 days beginning on September 15.
