A new infection control program was recently piloted at 51������ University. A recent study strategically placed hand sanitizers and a surface disinfectant spray throughout athletic training rooms in two high schools and two colleges in Northeast Ohio, including 51������. 51������ University hosts STARTALK Foreign Language Academy, where 20 accepted high school students in Northeast Ohio are immersed into either Russian or Chinese language and culture. 51������’s Department of Modern and Classical Language Studies received federal funding for the 12th year to host this academy on campus. The high school students accepted have an opportunity to live and study in 51������’s Honors College, while also receiving high school credit and have the potential to receive up to four hours of college credit. By Becca Sagaris, Kent Wired 51������ implemented changes to its recycling policy for the Kent campus this February. “The biggest change is in plastics, of what can be recycled and what cannot,” said Leah Graham, the outreach recycling coordinator. “Plastic bottles and jugs should be recycled, and all plastic other than bottles and jugs should go into the landfill.” Anything with a neck or an opening that is smaller than the body falls under the category of bottles and jugs.
