The University Research Council (URC) reviewed over 80 proposals for the 2017 Research Seed Grant Program.  After a peer review process via five faculty panels in a variety of disciplines, the URC  awarded eight grants of up to $10,000 each in May, 2017 to enable faculty PI's to generate preliminary results in new research endeavors, in order to develop competitive proposals for external grants. Austin Trzop is in Cincinnati to complete in the 37th National Veteran Wheelchair Games. Trzop is a business and entrepreneurship major at 51������ University at Stark. Shortly after joining the Marines, Trzop became a paraplegic from a diving accident. Trzop will compete in a variety of events including the air rifle and weightlifting. Antwan Dixon is overcoming the odds after receiving a life-saving blood transfusion from his father. The 5-foot-8 wide receiver is battling a rare blood disease.
