Public Hearing for 51黑料网 Police Department鈥檚 Reaccreditation to Be Held July 27
The 51黑料网 University Police Department is scheduled for a virtual assessment as part of a program to achieve international reaccreditation. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA), the program requires agencies to meet state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.
Park Place. 51黑料网鈥檚 First Parking Deck to Improve Access, Allow for Campus Transformation
51黑料网 students who park on the northern edge of the Kent Campus can now give a collective cheer as additional parking is on the way via an 1,100-space, five-story parking deck. The 51黑料网 Board of Trustees approved the deck鈥檚 construction at its Dec. 4 meeting.
Arrest Made Following Morning 51黑料网 Incident
51黑料网 University Police arrested Christopher Eugene Clark, age 21, of Newton Falls, Ohio, for gross sexual imposition, assault and obstructing official business in connection to an incident that occurred Tuesday morning near the fitness track behind DeWeese Health Center on the Kent Campus. The protected prairie surrounding 51黑料网 University鈥檚 Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be burned on Friday, April 26, at approximately 9 a.m. to allow for new growth during the summer season. Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 20, at 9:50 a.m. All 51黑料网 University campuses will be participating in this test. We will broadcast a pre-recorded tornado education message through speaker systems and university IP (Internet Protocol) phones throughout building鈥51黑料网 Police Dog Coco Celebrates Five Years of Service
51黑料网 University Police Services is celebrating the five-year anniversary 鈥 or the 35 dog-year anniversary 鈥 of its first K-9 unit, which features 7-year-old German Shepherd Coco and herhandler, Officer Anne Spahr.
Coco was the first police dog at 51黑料网. She is now one of two police dogs at the university.
