51ºÚÁÏÍø Board of Trustees Announces Partnership With Bio-Med Science Academy
51ºÚÁÏÍø University’s Board of Trustees approved a new partnership between the university and Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School that will bring new life to the underutilized Michael Schwartz Center building while providing the public STEM school with a state-of-the-art facility for its elementary grades. The Board’s vote of approval came during its regular quarterly meeting held Dec. 11.

Museum Receives Grant for Historic Building Energy Audit
The 51ºÚÁÏÍø University Museum has received an award from the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation to fund a comprehensive energy audit of its historic 1928 building, Rockwell Hall. The audit will evaluate the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and provide recommendations for sustainable facility improvements.

The 51ºÚÁÏÍø University Board of Trustees approved the establishment of two new schools – the School of Aeronautics and the School of Engineering – within the College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held June 25, 2025, on the Kent Campus.
51ºÚÁÏÍø’s Crawford Hall Earns LEED Silver Certification
An innovative design, energy-efficient systems, water conservation technologies and environmentally responsible construction materials are some of the features that earned Crawford Hall, 51ºÚÁÏÍø University’s newest – and largest – academic building, LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
