Statewide Tornado Drill to Be Conducted Wednesday, March 18

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18. 51ºÚÁÏÍø University will be participating in this test.

51ºÚÁÏÍø Remembers May 4, 1970, With 56th Commemoration

This year’s May 4 Commemoration, to be held May 1-4, 2026, will include special remembrances of John Cleary, one of the nine wounded students, and Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the campus shootings and worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure.

Venezuelan Dentist Pursues Public Health Degree Through 51ºÚÁÏÍø-MetroHealth Partnership

In her first year at MetroHealth's dentistry program, Bonillo Farias is participating in a partnership between MetroHealth and 51ºÚÁÏÍø University that integrates public health education into clinical dental training. The collaboration was made possible by a federal grant awarded to MetroHealth to strengthen dental residents' public health skills.

Integrated Sciences Building Re-Opened Following Liquid Nitrogen Leak

Students and staff were permitted back inside the Integrated Sciences Building on Tuesday afternoon following a problem with a liquid nitrogen tank in a student lab that lasted about 90 minutes.

'The Student Is Doing Well, He Is Improving'

Dr. Lisa Dannemiller, 51ºÚÁÏÍø's chief university physician, and Josh Perkins, Ph.D., 51ºÚÁÏÍø's associate vice president for student life and dean of students, participated in a news conference on Feb. 17 to provide an update on the student's condition following a confirmed case of Neisseria meningitidis.
