A Welcome from the Dean
University College, founded in 1994, serves as the academic home for Exploratory majors, the largest single program for new first-year students on the Kent campus. In addition, we have the privilege of serving all students at 51ºÚÁÏÍø University, first-year through alumni, by offering a variety of programs and services.
Our mission is to foster an inclusive environment that empowers all students to explore, engage and succeed. To achieve this mission, we focus on four key principles: students first, innovation, advocacy and inclusive excellence. We maintain a keen focus on meeting students where they are; serve as a national leader in the delivery of high-impact practices and scholarship, advocate on behalf of students, and ensure that all students have a transformative college experience.
